Produced by lauren + douglas in collaboration with childbirth educators from ‘The Peaceful Birth Partnership’, the 12 hand written affirmations have been carefully crafted by three seasoned birth workers to assist in creating an empowered birth experience. Together this team brings a wealth of insight, understanding and sensitivity from 100’s of births across a myriad of cultural settings, as well as personally living through the highs and lows of birth, loss and trauma in their own stories (10 kids combined–and counting!).

Throughout the creative process we made a concerted effort to prioritise our environmental and ethical values. It was important for us to find printers who embraced sustainable practices. We chose to go with the team at Sustainable Printing in Victoria, Australia.

Our Affirmations cards have been printed on 350gsm Ecostar card—a quality, durable recycled paper with outstanding environmental credentials. Carbon neutral, and made with 100% recycled post- consumer waste, non-toxic toner and no synthetic laminates means that when these much loved cards have served their purpose they can easily be de-inked in recycling processes.

Given the natural qualities of these cards they will serve best when treated respectfully. They are ideal for handheld use or can be displayed around your home, office, or birth space on string (with craft pegs) or can be fixed to your wall, door, mirror or fridge with sticky-tack or a magnet where appropriate. In order to preserve the printed surface we recommend avoiding the use of (washi) tape.
