Hello Matilda & Delilah | A Vaginal Twin Birth at the Mater Hospital Townsville

Every birth is unique, but some come with a little extra history.

For Matilda and Delilah’s family, this was one of those moments. Their birth marked the first vaginal twin delivery at Mater Hospital Townsville in over two years — a milestone for both the family and the hospital team.

As with many twin births, things moved quickly after delivery. The girls were admitted to special care shortly after their arrival, which meant we weren’t able to capture those immediate post-birth twin snuggles. But that’s the beauty of storytelling — the story doesn’t end at birth.

A few weeks later, once everyone was home and settled, we created a beautiful newborn session to celebrate this special chapter. Through these images, we honoured the strength, resilience, and joy of this incredible family.

Being invited to document such significant milestones is an honour we never take lightly. Whether it’s in the birth suite or at home, these stories deserve to be told with care, heart, and authenticity.
