Finn’s arrival was exactly that. A fast and furious precipitous birth — defined as delivery occurring less than three hours after contractions begin — in all its intense, breathtaking glory.

We were barely through the doors of Mater Hospital Townsville when Finn made his grand entrance. Moments like these are a reminder of why presence, intuition, and readiness matter so much in birth photography. Blink, and you’ll miss it.
